Mother’s Day should really come around more than once a year. Moms do so much for their families that while it’s important to appreciate them every day, it’s fun to have a day dedicated to showing them how much we care.
I have 2 busy moms and a busy grandma in our family, and I hear what they would like to get all the time. That’s not more stuff, it is more organization and more time!
We know that dads like to take their kids shopping and let them find a gift that mom would like to get. And the truth is… your mom doesn’t need any more chachkies!
This Mother’s Day, I would like to share my favorite clutter-free gifts to give and receive.
Please share some of your favorite clutter-free Mother’s Day gifts with us on our Facebook page!
Does your Mom spend her days making sure everyone gets where they need to be? Would she like to be treated with a spa gift certificate? How about a pedicure and a manicure? How about an afternoon at home in a clean house?
Do the kids have a nice healthy lunch packed for them each day? Return the favor by arranging a lunch date for Mom and a few of her girlfriends. Don’t make her arrange for the babysitter!
Is your family routine hectic from morning ‘til night? Give her a day off from all responsibilities and encourage her to go for a hike, visit a museum, see a movie, or simply spend the entire day in her pajamas. Make sure all of the things she is responsible for are taken care of, otherwise it is not a fun day off.
Are you an adult child looking to thank Mom for raising you right or helping with your kids? Surprise her with a planned and paid for date on the town with Dad.
In my family, everyone is a busy adult. We try to spend any holidays we can under one roof. We have not all been together on Mother’s Day, but my mother is always happy when we spend the holidays together. Don’t forget to make sure Mom doesn’t do any dishes!
More ideas for clutter-free gifts include:
- Plan a family portrait session
- Go on a family hike
- Make or order her a special meal (she gets to pick the food)
- Take her to a play or a concert or her favorite activity (you know that thing she is always asking you go and do with her!)
- Give her a day away with a girlfriend (she doesn’t have to plan for the family ahead, she can just go)
- Foot massage
- An organizing session with their favorite organizer! Wink, Wink! 😉
Hope you find the perfect way to honor your mom!
Happy Mother’s Day!
