How did you get into organizing? I get asked that a lot, here is the story…
In May of 2007, I lost my project management job to the real estate market crash. The small remodeling company, I had spent the last 5 years of my life working for, could no longer afford to pay me. I was weeks away from marrying my best friend, we had just purchased our dream home a couple of months ago, and we had just adopted a puppy.
I immediately started sending out resumes, and quickly realized that my options were going to be very limited. What I really wanted to do, was to do something meaningful, and working in a cubicle was not it. In my job search I found a Professional Organizer who was a project manager, and that was a defining moment in my life. I immediately realized that professional organizing was what I was meant to do with my life.
I knew I was organized, and I knew I could help people be more organized. I grew up in a very organized home, to two very organized parents. I called a couple of people, and offered my services. They took me up on my offer, and referred me to a couple of their messy friends. One of my first clients was a person who hoarded paper. I soon realized that there was more to organizing than putting things in pretty bins and labeling them. I realized that I was going to have to get educated, I didn’t know there was so much behind all of the stuff.
I have since made a commitment to learning. It is important to understand how I can help my clients be more organized. It is important to listen to their goals and needs. It is important to teach my team to work the same way.
I believe that no one is ever ready for change. Stepping out of our comfort zones is much more difficult that we ever imagined it to be. However, those who take a chance are able to live better lives. We are constantly surrounded by bravery and courage, and we gain strength from that process.
We laugh, we cry, and we hug on a daily basis. We have lots of fun in organizing.
We create visual results and transform spaces, which help our clients change their lives. We help our clients reach their goals of living better lives, spending more time with their families, have clutter free spaces. What is your goal?
We are lucky to be able to do what we love everyday! We are very thankful to be part our client’s journey!
We hope that you will call us, and let us be part of your journey.
